Wold Farm, home to Wheatear Cottage, is a 1,000-acre unit growing a range of crops as well as running a herd of suckler beef cattle. The farm is also in the Higher Level Environment Scheme (HLS) and is dedicated to encouraging biodiversity. Several endangered species of farmland bird flourish here, including the summer visitor Wheatear after which the cottage is named.
